Code review beyond code style

This talk is about code reviews. How you can get passed the personal preferences and discussions about code style. It includes tips on automated CS options and pointers on how to communicate about the changes to the code, instead of the syntax of the code.

Reviewing code can feel like a waste of time. Discussing code can be easy though, if you leave out syntax details. Making pull requests as easy as possible to review is a big deal to keep working efficiently.

In this talk you will learn how you can reduce mental overhead by incorporating some code style rules (both common and uncommon rules). Furthermore this talk will give some general guidelines on how to submit pull requests (both open source and company projects) and how to give feedback on them as a peer developer or coworker. These rules are not to keep for yourself, share them with your peers and your life will get easier.
